Muna's Cool Tour: Ermessets &Talayots

Le Baleari... le isole del vento, praticamente le Eolie in salsa spagnola, bellissime! Sono quattro: Maiorca, Minorca, Ibiza e Formentera. Come sorelle, molto simili e molto diverse fra loro... Finalmente, con Minorca e Maiorca, le ho viste tutte ed ho potuto assaporare le diverse atmosfere di queste quattro splendide isole. 

La leggenda racconta che il vento di Tramontana che soffia su Maiorca e Minorca cambi la personalità della gente. Per questo, dopo averla visitata, molti non vogliono più abbandonarle o sognano per sempre di ritornarci.

The Balearics ... islands of the wind, Aeolian islands in Spanish sauce, beautiful! There are four, Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera, like sisters, very similar and very different… 

Finally I've seen everything, with Menorca and Majorca, I could savor the atmosphere of all four beautiful islands. 

The legend tells that the North wind blowing on Mallorca and Menorca change people's personality. Therefore, after having visited them, many do not want to abandon them or dream forever to return. 

Per prima Minorca, la più orientale e tranquilla delle Baleari, un'isola selvaggia e riservata, calette, baie solitarie e un mare strepitoso. In poche parole, verdissima, giovane, chic e low profile! 

L'isola del vento, perché soffia quasi incessantemente il vento di Tramontana, con una natura incontaminata e paesaggi meravigliosi, dichiarata Riserva della Biosfera dall'UNESCO nel 1993 per il suo incredibile patrimonio ecologico e culturale. 

Un'isola quasi completamente piatta che si divide geologicamente in due zone molto diverse tra loro: Tramontana a nord, con un territorio scosceso e un litorale molto frastagliato; Migjorn a sud, con rilievi moderati con profondi burroni e per lo più spiagge bianche. Al centro il punto più alto dell'isola: il Monte Toro, 385 m. nel suo punto più alto. 

Se potete scegliete di soggiornare a Ciutadella, cittadina per metà araba e per metà mediovale, capitale dell'isola fino alla dominazione britannica, il suo centro storico, dichiarato monumento nazionale storico-artistico, è semplicemente delizioso ed è anche uno dei posti migliori di tutta l'isola per fare shopping. 

Ma Ciutadella è anche il punto di partenza ideale per visitare le più belle spiagge e conoscere l'isola. Acque turchesi e distese di sabbia bianca o rosa, insenature e fiordi accessibili per lo più dal mare o a piedi, tra muretti a secco e rigogliosa macchia mediterranea. 

Negli immediati dintorni si trovano infatti calette vergini paradisiache come La Vall, Son Saura, Cala'n Turqueta e Macarella.

Menorca, the island of the wind, because almost always blows Tramontana, the most eastern of the Balearic Islands with a quiet, unspoiled nature and beautiful landscapes. The island has a rich ecological and cultural inheritance, that was international recognized by Unesco in 1993 when it was given the distinction of "Reserve of the Biosphere". Menorca is practically level, geologically divided into two well defined regions: The Tramontana (north), which has a steep profile and a rugged coast, and the Mingjiorn (south), with deep ravines running into a gentle coast-line. The centre of the island is dominated by Monte Toro, 358 m. at its highest point. 

If you can, choose to stay in Ciutadella, a town half-Arab, half medieval, main center of the island until the British domination, its historic center, declared national historical-artistic monument, is simply delicious and is also one of the best places of the whole island for shopping. 

But Ciutadella is also the ideal starting point to visit the most beautiful beaches and explore the island. Turquoise waters and white or pink sand beaches, inlets and fjords accessed mostly by sea or on foot, including dry stone walls and lush Mediterranean vegetation. 

The surrounding area of Ciutadella, still very much in its original state, offers delightful inlets such as La all, Son Saura, Cala'n Turqueta or Macarella.

L'antico borgo di Ciutadella è anche preferibile alla caotica e iper turistica Mahòn, ed è perfetta per un tour tra piazze, portici a volta ed eleganti ed austeri palazzi gotici illuminati dalla pietra marès. Soprattutto, per un tour di shopping! Inutile dire che anche li ho scovato delle boutique deliziose: Inaki Sampedro, The Room, ho scoperto gli originali e carinissimi bikini di Santa Braguita, il vintage ricercato di Chica Trampa. Ed ovviamente non ho potuto farmi mancare le Avarques, i sandali tipici utilizzati dai contadini prodotti artigianalmente, oggi popolarissimi ed indossati anche dalle teste coronate. Ne ho comprate alcune, solo per bambine però, perché, davvero no, non fanno per me, ma in fin dei conti le trovo molto belle e pratiche e le ho viste indossate da donne di tutte le età, alcune con gran classe. 
La sera si può far tardi nei tanti bar del porto, alcuni dallo stile ricercato, ma che dopotutto restano informali, ancora con quel fascino marinaro. E poi, non ci si può far mancare almeno una notte nella più bella discoteca delle Baleari e, d'Europa probabilmente, la Cova d'en Xoroi, letteralmente scavata nella roccia, con le terrazze a strapiombo sul mare.

The ancient town of Ciutadella is also preferable to the chaotic and hyper tourist Mahòn, is perfect for a tour of squares, arcades and vaulted elegant and austere Gothic buildings illuminated by mares stones… but most importantly, for a shopping tour! Needless to say, I spotted there delightful boutiques: Inaki Sampedro and The Room; I found the delicious and very original bikini by Santa Braguita and the sought Vintage from Chica Trampa.

Then, the avarques, the typical peasant sandals that are produced by artisans, now very popular and also worn by the crowned heads. I bought some, just for little girls though, because, really no, they are not for me, but I find them very beautiful and practical, and I've seen worn by women of all ages, some of them very classy. 

In the evening you may be late in the many bars of the port, some sophisticated style, but still informal, and with that marine charm. Thereafter, you cannot miss at least one night in the most beautiful of the Balearic disco and probably in Europe, the Cova d'en Xoroi, literally carved into the rock, with terraces overlooking the sea.

E poi Maiorca, ricca di arte, cultura e meraviglie naturalistiche, dalle splendide cale e spiagge dal mare cristallino alle verdi montagne della Serra di Tramontana. A ovest, abbarbicati sulle montagne della Serra di Tramontana, nascosti tra ulivi centenari e palme esotiche, occhieggiano pittoreschi paesini di pietra lucente dal vago sapore provenzale, con graziosi porticcioli di pescatori e piccole cale rocciose dagli splendidi colori turchini. Lungo la costa si può visitare le Coves des Drac (che ospita uno dei laghi sotterranei più grandi al mondo) o le Coves des Ermessets nei dintorni di Esporles, dove si dice sia nascosto un prezioso tesoro (per molte leggende, è anche il nido degli Ermessets, n.d.r.: verdi folletti che popolano i boschi della Serra de Tramuntana). 

Il porno-sushi de Jamon di Hanaita

Una visita meritano sicuramente i centri di Deià e Valdemossa con i loro deliziosi villaggi in pietra di marès e sicuramente non può mancare un bel giro a Palma di Maiorca, forse, una delle città più belle di tutto il mediterraneo, ricca di arte e storia, il suo Barri Gotic a misura d'uomo brulicante di turisti è il fulcro della movida Maiorchina. Nei miei tour a Palma, ho potuto assaporare le prelibatezze della bomboneria La Pajarita (marron glacé, torroni e bon bon al cioccolato e mandorle superbi) e per la prima volta ho assaggiato un sushi che mi piace davvero: il sushi de Jamon (cibo da orgasnom o quel che potrei definire un porno-sushi!). Davvero eccezionale, una specialità del ristorante giapponese Hanaita, uno dei più antichi ristoranti di sushi di tutta la Spagna, fuori dai circuiti del turismo di massa. 

Infine, tra shopping e saldi, ho fatto una bella scoperta: il brand catalano della fashion designer Sita Murt. Le linee morbide e sensuali dei suoi abiti, la semplicità unita alla cura per i dettagli e la ricerca dei materiali, me ne ha fatta subito innamorare!

To the west, clinging to the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana, hidden among ancient olive trees and exotic palm trees, overlooking the picturesque stone shiny villages, vaguely provençal, with pretty fishing harbors and small rocky coves with colorful turquoise. 

Down the coast you can visit the Coves des Drac (which houses one of the largest underground lakes in the world) or the Coves des Ermessets in the surroundings of Esporles, where is said to have sneak a treasure (for many legends, the cove is also the nest of the Ermessets, green goblins that inhabit the forests of the Serra de Tramuntana). 
Definitely worth a visit the centers of Deia and Valldemossa with their delightful villages in marès stones and definitely can not miss a ride in Palma de Mallorca, perhaps, one of the most beautiful city in the Mediterranean, rich in art and history, its swarming with tourists human scale Barri Gotic, is the hub of the Majorcan moved. During my tour in Palma, I was able to taste the delights of The ancient Pajarita Bomboneria (its maroon glacé, chocolate bon bon, nougat and almonds are simply superb) and for the first time I tasted a sushi that I really like: sushi de Jamon, literally a food orgasnom or what I would call a porn-sushi! Really great, a real specialty from the Japanese restaurant Hanaita, one of the oldest sushi restaurants in all of Spain, off the beaten track of tourism mass. 

Finally, between shopping and sales, I made a wonderful discovery: the brand of the Catalan fashion designer Sita Murt. The soft, sensual lines of her clothes, the simplicity combined with the attention to detail and the refined materials research, has made ​​me instantly fall in love!

E per immaginare e rievocare un po' dell'atmosfera minorchina niente di meglio che un video girato a Ciutadella della birra Maiorchina Estrella Dam ed uno sulla bellezza mozzafiato della Serra de Tramuntana, parzialmente girato nel delizioso borgo di Deià, che mette in risalto la splendida ospitalità della gente di questa regione dell'isola di Maiorca.
